With economic downfall and consumers more stingy than ever this Holiday season retailers are looking for the most cost effective way to target their prospective consumer. The cure, Behavioral Targeting! Allowing retailers to reach out to the most viable consumers by information collected on individual’s web-browsing behavior. With the growing number of holiday shoppers shopping online, the desire to directly reach the consumer has never been in such demand. More than likely we have all been subjected to behavioral targeting. A simple search on Google or Amazon could start a cycle of specifically targeted ads to you for weeks. I experienced this first hand when searching for a Motorcycle on Google which caused Kawasaki and Harley Davidson ads to pop up on my yahoo page and on various sites I visited. Retailers use Networks to behavioral target to be sure to reach the consumer on multiple sites. With the holidays just around the corner don’t be surprised when you see a plethora of ads that seem to be exactly what you’re looking for.
