Don’t build a widget just for the sake of having one?
There are thousands of online widgets out there, some have succeeded but most have failed. You really need to think about whether your brand warrants building a widget for. Unless it can drive engagement and add value to a consumer’s life, a widget is pointless. In my opinion, the minimum requirement for building a widget is having plenty of resources to keep the content fresh because it’s an application that the consumer will want to use on a regular basis. Even then, there are no guarantees that it will be successful, so make sure to think about it from the consumers’ perspective and how it can benefit them.
